Holiday Updates

Ahoy Shoppers! With the holidays right around the corner, Nauti Nell has been filling the shop with gift items, some local and most made in the USA. Boxed and individual Christmas cards have arrived as well as some fall and holiday linens. New nautical items line the shelves. Nell carries a selection of museum-quality boat models, all constructed by local artisans. We have many new books for adults and children and a selection of old favorites. Our newest book is "Our First Twenty Years," a pictorial history of the Deltaville Maritime Museum. All profits from the sale of this book benefit the Museum. Usually sold for $25, the history is on sale for $20 until 12/31/22. We have holiday candles, nautical jewelry, and a large selection of Rolf glasses. From North Carolina, we have small and large boxes of chocolate-covered English toffee. Last, but not least, we offer this year's crop of Georgia pecans, cinnamon glazed for the holidays. Get yours early, we sell out fast.

For those of you interested in boating gear, this is the time of year our consignors clean out their storage units and their boats. Nauti Nell is the recipient of a variety of used equipment for sale at reasonable prices. You never know what you will find, as unusual and collectible items come in daily - gifts as well as gear. The list of items on the web site is only a small amount of our stock. Bring in your own serviceable items for extra cash during the holiday season. Please call if you have more than a few items, so the staff will be prepared for your delivery. Don't forget, you must inventory the things you drop off.

For your holiday shopping, the store will be open every day EXCEPT TUESDAY, our regular hours 10-5 weekdays and Saturday, 11-4 Sunday. Thanks for shopping locally.

In Memoriam

Stephens Smith, aka Kaptain Krunch In 2020, Kaptain Krunch lost his long battle with Parkinson's. (Read his obituary.) He is sorely missed by his family, his many friends, and our community. He was an ardent supporter of the Deltaville Maritime Museum, having started Family Boatbuilding Week, and spearheading the building of the Captain John Smith barge, "Explorer." He contributed his graphic skills to many Museum projects until he was no longer able to do so. In his honor, donations can be made to the Kaptain Krunch Memorial Fund through the Deltaville Maritime Museum, PO Box 466, Deltaville, VA 23043.
